Sonnet to My Lake Superior

My superior lake can I express,

Your mysterious spell of cold Indeed?

Passion I have for my body to dress

With your waves of cold silk my skin doth need.

Undulating along my prickled skin

You dance through me your rippled currents pure

A bewitching, magical trance I'm in

Your push and pull is a powerful lure.

Fear and anger tumble and roll in

But beneath your waves I sense sad and blue

Do you not want me to swim within?

Is your need for quiet solitude so true?

We are blood, my Lake Superior mine.

Mine and Your life are but tangled divine.
