Correspondence With Snowflake

Dear Happy Little Snowflake,

I have some questions for you. (I’ve been watching you outside my window the last few days)

l.  How does it feel to float around so carefree?

2. How do you just drift with the wind?

3. How is it possible not to worry about viruses?

Fondly,

Your Friend,

Maggie

Snowfall in Berlin

Dear Maggie,

It’s creepy you’ve been watching me. (Just saying) I’m a simple snowflake so I thought I was invisible to your world. I’m always hearing about how horrible we are and how people want to sweep us away, plow us over, pee on us or simply leave and go south.

Thank you for writing, though, I’m sorry for your loss since Covid-19.

To answer your questions…when I’m floating with the wind senses take over. The cold (as I like it best) makes sounds muffled, I fall with a wet, crisp taste of being a snowflake. Each day I transform into a new design. A new entity.

I am aware of my priceless freedom. I will miss my window of time if I don’t cherish each hour, each day, I take advantage.

My snuggling is my essence. I couldn’t exist alone. If I had to wear a mask and isolate I would miss the season I live for!  We aren’t very white without our joined forces. I am no longer an individual, I’m a part of the whole. I want to emphasize no two of us are alike but together we rock.

My existence isn’t for making you slip and fall, crash your mode of transportation or freeze you out. My intention is to bring beauty and serenity to you. I don’t exist to shut you in but to give you a chance to rejuvenate.

I have 2 questions for you.

  1. Can’t you float with the wind?
  2. When you wait for a new season what do you do with each minute and hour of now?

Authentically Yours,

Snowflake (I’m NOT always happy and I’m NOT little)

Dear Snowflake,

Thank you. Sorry for  judging you as little or happy.

1. Yes, I can float with the times.  It’s not as easy as you make it look, though, but possible.

2. I agree, putting this season on hold isn’t healthy. My power, my individuality gives me chances to

live this moment. That last thing I want is to be shredded because of Covid-19.

Thank you for allowing me to use you to make a snow person and more importantly for pushing against being controlled when it’s not right.

Your individuality is your beauty. When you float down on my tongue or snuggle as part of a community on a snowbank I'll look at you differently.

With love,

Maggie

Dear Maggie,

Thrive. Float. This season is yours. Have hope your next season will come. I wish you the best, a future of snuggling, friends, family and Covid-Under-Control.

Lovingly,

Snowflake

p.s. Do your best. You're not perfect and no two of you are alike.
