I Know So Little About You...

What your favorite chair is, where you stand to look out the window when you’re thinking.

When you were a child what did you imagine yourself to be when you grew up?

Where would you go to hide if you could get away for a week?  A no-strings-attached week.  No one would ask you where you’re going or where you’ve been.  Would you go alone?

If you could do something beyond what your body or mind would let you, what would it be?  Would it be dangerous or something your fear has kept you from doing?

If you had a choice, where would you want to be when you die?  Who would you want next to you, to hold your hand until the end?

What is the hardest secret you’ve ever had to keep about someone? Or about yourself?

Whose forgiveness has been the hardest for you to ask for?  Who do you wish would ask for your forgiveness?

If you could delete part of your life and do it over, what part would it be?   Or wouldn’t you?

I know so little about myself.  These questions I haven’t really answered myself, they're complicated.

I went to the obituary of my sister, Karen, this morning.  I watched the video with the music and pictures of her and family.   I cried hard and it felt so good.  I’ve seen the video, but not since October.  It was in the jumble of things in Florida, after she died.  When I saw it this morning my grief gave way unexpectedly.  That’s what grief does. 

As I watched the pictures go by, I wanted to be with her and ask her questions.  Things I’ll never know about her.  Things I could have asked, if I had spent time with her.

I hope if you knew her you’d smile and say, I knew that about you.  And I hope it inspires you to tell someone about youself.   Or maybe inspires you to pick one of the questions and talk to someone you love, about something they don’t know about you.
