computer crash

Not able to post my writing lately. Extemely frustrating BUT there is a positive side! I'm reading more and picking up my guitar to work on songs I'm writing. My computer died. I hated it anyway. So I'm tapping away on my Kindle trying to write to tell my readers, "Don't give up on my blog, I will replace my computer in about ten days and be back in words."
I have many stories to share and find writing this blog very, very satisfying. My last blog was actually a song,I wrote and wanted to post.
I head for the U.S. shortly to be "Mom" at Heidi's senior recital at U of M. I'm hand delivering special sweets from Turkey (Elizabeth's idea) for the reception after her performance...Turkish Delight, hand pulled candy, and baklava that will melt on your tongue. I really wanted Betsy Laug to make her homemade specialties she made for other family events, but no computer---no skype---no phone calls.
I'll return to Istanbul on April 15th and teach (and write) until July. So, you haven't heard the last words from Stainglass Eyes.

Handy in Bautzen

HAPPY NEW YEAR (Thank you ahead for reading) I’ve just returned from travel to Germany. My son Holden lives in Berlin and welcomed me for a visit before the holiday. I want to share one of my experiences. Going through this helped me see I’m calmer and more grounded.  I Enjoy the Train Rides in Germany Holden and I traveled two different times on regional trains for his Christmas performances. One was in Bautzen and the other in Zittow. They’re considered Saxony regions of East Germany.They border the Czech republic. It makes them very interesting. More rural areas. The people are less likely to speak English. I’m amazed at how much they do speak compared to my ability to speak German, though.  One day while Holden was working (while in Bautzen) I decided to wander the Christmas Market (Weinachtmarkt) and go to a local museum. I already saw one of his early performances and the evening performance was sold out.  One of my favorite things to do in is walk with "Some"...

To Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Arriving Early for Harry Belafonte's Lecture Hill Auditorium, U of M Harry Belafonte spoke today, at Hill Auditorium, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His presence, style, personality were all what I expected and more.  He doesn't have to sing to make his presence known. He casually walked on stage with a cane.  He wore a gray tweed suit, with black shoes.  No tie, but a white shirt underneath a gray sweater, showing only the white collar.  Tall, handsome, and charming, he smiled warmly, as the crowd greeted him.
